Default Did I buy the correct part?

Hi Guys,

I am going to be replacing my clutch cable and helper spring next weekend on my 1985 930. I don't have access to the car until then, but am worried I have the wrong "omega" AKA helper spring.

From my reading, it appears that the spring should look like this.

Here is a pic of the spring I was shipped. It does not have a hole in it for the shaft. Instead, both ends have 90 degree bends, with one side having 3 "leafs". It is part number 93011606409.

Anyone have any thoughts? I swear last time I was under the car, it had a hole in it.

That's the right spring for a turbo.

Thanks - I hope it is. I just was on pelicanparts as well, and they show the diagram with one for a 930 with a hole in it...

The one with the hole is for a 915 gearbox.

Yep, that's the correct one alright. I just replaced mine and it's exactly the same as the one pictured.

Cheers,

Question:

Is this an add-on (clutch helper)?
Or is it stock item?
Why would one change it?

My clutch petal is sticking to the floor sometimes. I beleive it is a combination of a bad cable and a worn spring. It may just be the cable, but since I am ripping it out I am going to replace both.

The cable is easy...and it's only about $49. I just ordered and installed one...but make sure you get the one that has the bend in it that takes the cable over the top....look how your cable is routed. I bought one that didn't have enough bend in it and although it fit, I had to route it to the side and it doesn't fit quite as well. The order sheet took the year and make of the car, but I should have gone by the Porsche PET number. I think I got an aftermarket version.

make sure you didnt get the spring on upside down. first time i had mine apart i put it back in upside down and the clutch pedal did exactly that.
