Default Auxiliary Air Valve (device)

My street 79' 930 stays on a very fast idle for and extended period of time in cold weather. I blocked the aux air valve and that brings the idle to normal. The resistance measured on the AAV is 20 ohms. The book says 33 ohms. I suppose this is the problem because it is not heating up fast enough. It takes several minutes for the valve to fully close. Anyone know where to buy one without having to rob a bank? Prices I have seen range from $350 to $1100. Thanks as always for past input and helping me keep my fun car rolling for the past 17 years.

I think you can just plug it, unless you live somewhere really cold it doesn't really need it anyway

Pretty sure I've seen a post here about someone who took one apart and replaced the windings with some specific-sized wire, but I couldn't find it.

Default AAR

Thanks for the feed back and the link. Not sure I will go through all of the rebuilding verus plugging the device. But I sure do know more about the AAR than I did before.
