Makes those Ruf wheels look pretty darn cheap! Too bad the market has taken a dump.

Thats not unheard of- I paid $5500 for mine with tires. Hurt alittle but glad I did it- Cheers, Mike

Pictures are gorgeous. Now if I can just get the market (and more importantly, my better half) to let me flex a bit. Will keep you posted.

Noah- with those offsets did you run adapters? The 964 wheels I do not think will fit on a 80s vintage 930 without adapters or spacers with longer studs. I tried a set of Fiskes on mine from a late model with no luck. They are gorgeous!!!

What are you asking for them? Are they off a 930 or 964 because I would love them for my 968. it's offsets are 52 front and 54mm rear like the late model 964 3.6. Yours are offset out more but I may be able to use a spacer for the rears.... wondering if these would fit it......?

I'll do some reasearch and PM you if they will work- Cheers, Mike

i have a set of late model wheels on mine I use a 3/4 inch spacer on the front and about a 2 1/2 on the back I run 235's on the front the 225's were too narrow and tended to lock up at the track.
Now that I'm back from the outage time to pull the engine out, just drained the oild waiting for it to cool back off to start the rest of it.

Ken- same here just a WP Porsche motor coming out. Hope you had a good outage. I thought the rears would need some spacing because the outer lips are not as deep as say the ones on my car- at least from the pitures. Did you have to use longer studs or just the spacer?

235s huh? I think your just missing your breaking point or driving too fast.....LOL

Good luck with the motor- post some stuff, love to see it. Enjoy your holiday down time if you get any.
Cheers-Mike

No lol, I had the braking point down, 225's are too skinny for 285 rears. unless you have an adjustable brake proportioning valve. I was considering going to wider rear tires but i think 235's are as big as you can fit in the front and still be able to drive without rubbing so the 235 and 285 seems to be the right ratio. I used longer studs with the spacers on the front. on the back I used the stock studs and spacer then added the 2 1/2 inch spacer. One day when I can afford to buy wheels with the correct offset I'll get rid of all the spacers. The outage went really well for that plant . The first few days when I drove up though the guys all piled out of the ECT trailer wondering what all the noise was. I made the trailer shake when I drove up lol.

I haven't mounted the 3.6 Speedline wheels on my stock '87 930, as I don't have spacers to fit them, yet. Perhaps Ken can comment on spacer sizing.

But the 3.6 offsets are 52 and 61 (front/rear). I believe the stock offsets for later 930s (like mine) are 18 and 24. Someone please correct me on that if I'm wrong.

The offsets that the RH 3.6 replicas that most 930 guys seem to be running are 21 and 27 (for the 18x8.5 fronts and 18x10 rears).

Since every car is slightly different the best luck I have had with both my 911's was to get the tires mounted on the wheels. then measure them on the car then order your spacers. what worked good on mine might just be a little off on yours. the one time i did it without measuring was the one inch spacers I started with on the turbo. and they rubbed even with 225's. thats why they are sold in about 4 mm increments

Just for clarification, Ken, you have Speedline, not RH wheels on your car, correct?

You should get the centre of the new front wheels when viewed from above exactly where the stock ones were. The back wheels on these cars is not important other than strain on the wheel bearing.

Default want to mount these on 79 930

If I am understanding this thread.....then my 79 930 came from the factory with
front 7x16 ET 23.3
rear 9x16 ET 15

I have these wheels that I would like to mount. I am not ure of the origin, but I suspect they are knock offs of the Speedline wheel for the 964 c2.

They are made in Italy and the sizes are

9x18 ET 46
10.5 x 18 ET 55

Can they fit and what size spacer will I need?

By the way these are the wheels on the car now....I think they are BBS RS 3 piece painted in matte black. They came on the car from dealer gold center / polished lip.
7x 16 225-? -16 ( new)
9x16 255-?-16 ( new)
( rears might be 8" cause they are tucked under the fenders a bit... not sure.

I will be selling these very reasonable. The tires are new Bridgestone G force.

if these are the same wheels...and I suspect they are.....then I am going to sell mine with tires for much less.....$1800? seems fair
