Anyone here know what RUF did with the plastic IC vent
when they put the RUF IC on the 930?
Maybe someone has a picture showing inside the engine lid?

I put in a B&B IC and used the original plastic shroud by altering it. It took a little fitting but it turned out fine and looks like an OEM piece. If the edge is not perfect or you want a little gasket around the perimeter you can use black door edge guard strips along the edge. These are "V" shaped pieces and have a glue in them.

1992 RUF BTR III conversion to a 79 SC donor chassis, done by RUF. It had an aluminum sheet metal cover where the A/C condenser would have been. No wiper motor. There was no plastic shroud like a stock 930. The RUF intercooler is much taller than the stock IC and it came very close to the mesh on the underside of the wing. I'd say within a 1/4" or less (5-6mm).

It's interesting to note, this car had a G50-50 which RUF elected to use once they became available trough factory production. Even with the special G50-50 torsion tube conversion the length of the transaxle pushed the engine rearwards a couple inches. A conventional whaletail base would conflict with a stock intercooler, but the RUF intercooler is shaped differently so it sits farther forwards. You can see the cut-out area on the air cleaner housing to accomodate the front of the intercooler. Underneath the air cleaner there is no CIS metering box. Just a tube from the air cleaner to the convoluted pipe. Custom injector blocks with two EFI bosch injectors per block. 408HP rating on 92 pump gas. Cool.
