Default Widest tires on stock Fuchs?

Hey all,

Already busy getting the new-to-me 930 ready for some track day fun. I have some nice 18" RH wheels mounted at present but I think I'd really prefer to run either 16"s or 17"s on the track. I can't get the car very low with the 18's I have. A couple questions...

How wide can I go on my stock 16" 7s/9s? Will this leave me "under tired"?

If these aren't the best option, I was thinking I could sell the RH's, use the 16s for street, and buy a set of 17" track wheels.

What do you guys think some very nice condition RH's (8s/10) with Eagle F1's are worth?

Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

I think 17'' wheels would be better. They are easy to find and cheaper. 18s are good for slicks (like mine).

Todd- Do not know about the 16s but +2 on the 17" track wheels. The RHs should sell for $2500 to $3500- really! They run about 1K each for our cars and usually the tires are the freebees IMHO. Even at $3K they would be a deal for someone who still has some cash these days. I paid in the 5s for mine. Could fund 2 sets of track wheels and tires.

Another one for 17s. The selection of tires for 16s is getting scarce and will only get worse.

Input appreciated. I'm not a member (don't know why I haven't done that) but, in case anybody is interested, I think there's a set of wheels for sale in my garage.
