Hello gents,
I have been having an issue with rain water getting into the rear foot wells when driving in heavy rain.
Tests that I have done, & places I've looked.
1. Deluge car with hose from on top...no water intrusion.
2. High pressure stream from hose into all window seals & sunroof & wheel wells & belly pan...from all accessible directions.....no water intrusion.
3. Front trunk area always dry.
4. Rocker panel carpets are always dry.
5. Rear seat always dry.
6. Carpet below rear quarter windows always dry.
7. Absolutely no water in front foot well sections ever.
8. Engine compartment always dry.
9. Headliner always dry.
10. Front seats always dry.
The problem became worse after lowering the car...weird! It has got to be coming in from the rear wheel wells..I think..can't find the source, and it's driving me nuts!!!!
Anybody else with this affliction?
Mark

How about checking beneath the transmission shifter linkage cover plate between the seats in the rear? Although that's a sealed area, there is (are) a couple of rubber bellows that keep water from entering from the outside. Perhaps the bellows are dislodged or shot, and water is forced under speed into the area...filling and overflowing into the rear foot wells.

Hello Mark,
I did not think that the water could be coming in from there, since that spot is dead center under the car. However, I do know the shift rod rubber boot grommet is NOT sealed to the car, because I could not get it to cooperate after I rebuilt my tranny. I will take a look there this weekend. Thanks for the tip!!!

had same issue. it turned out to be a drilled hole (not sure if it was orignal or not) on the verticle plain that sits between the left rear seat and floor plan. You will have to move carpeting to see.
