Need Help. Will C2 Turbo OEM Bumper bolt up to 930 front end??
I am in the process of purchasing a stock C2 (1991) Turbo front bumper with all mounting hardware and installing it on my 87-930.
The question that I have is... How different (if at all) is the mounting of the bumper to the shocks and front cross-member on the C2 compared with the 930?
I'm thinking that the shocks on the C2 Turbo mount up completely different than on my car.
Can someone help with this. I am looking for only facts and not "why don't you buy a fiberglass bumper, etc...". I am not concerned about weight as this is strictly a street car and I am more concerned about safety.
Your help is appreciated.

I can't say for sure, but I do think the mounts are different for a 930 and a C2 turbo. I don't think you will have too much trouble with using the bumper cover, but you might need an aftermarket type of brace/bumper to go under. The best suggestion is to talk to a body shop or maybe a aftermarket bumper parts place such as Getty Design can help you. http://www.gettydesign.com

Thanks
Guys,
thanks for all the help on this. I think I have strayed away from the factory option.
It just doesn't make sense on paper to do it. My have to go with aftermarket option, but will not do fiberglass at all. Do not want to deal with cracking if I hit something... like a curb.

Hey Bryan...no worries on the bumper, makes sense (there's a local guy interested in picking up the bumper).
For the comments on the reinforcement portion of the bumper cover. They don't actually touch. The cover mounts w/ 5-6 10 mm fasteners to the leading edge and also at the fenders.
Cheers,
Jeff
