Default Has anyone heard of the Solaroli patent for turbocharged engines?

I ran across this patent, and his horsepower claims are pretty extraordinary, but I can't quite figure out how he's getting the power.

He claims that a Porsche 3.2 liter race engine that put out 750hp @ 8200 rpms with 7.1:1 compression put out 1120 hp at 7800 rpm at 1.6 bar and 746 lb ft of torque with his invention. There are a couple of other examples of power increases in the patent description. He's using individual throttle bodies, two injectors per cylinder, twin turbos and special compression rings, but aside from that, I can't figure out why he got a patent.

Here's the patent:

Here's an article about the lawsuit:

I think he's getting the claimed power by running 10:1 compression and 1.6 to 2.0 bar boost. I guess that's possible at those extreme limits, but his "invention" must have more to do with delivering sufficient fuel to accomodate such a huge amount of boost (dual injectors). All on an otherwise stock engine with a ceramic top ring. I would expect the heads to blow off in short order, the rod bolts to snap in two, etc.
Interesting read, anyway.

As an aside, this is the same guy that "tuned" Elvis Stojko's (a Canadian men's singles figure skater from the late 80's/early 90's) 993 TT to some stratospheric claimed HP/TQ numbers using his adiabatic combustion principles. You can find some interesting articles relating to said car and Al Solaroli by doing some Google research.

The corresponding US application issued on 9/4/2001 as Pat. No. 6,282,898.
