Halloween In February
It is my pleasure to announce that GaryR and I have taken our president's advice and done our part to stimulate the econmony.
Yes it is true, the Pumpkin has changed hands. I knew that I wanted that car since I saw Gary's first thread about it's possible sale. He and I have been communicating about it since November. Finally got a chance to meet last week and the deal was done, in spite of the CT DMV's best attempt at making us all crazy (typo on the title). Thanks to my friend Wayne who conveyed the money, etc to Gary the day the title finally came back from the DMV and to Gary for being so patient and making his word good on everything we discussed.
Some of you know Gary so you know what a straight up guy he is. He has been very upfront and totally honest about the car and all else involved. He sent me pictures of every little thing, every scratch, then fixed all of them before I was able to see the car. Even offered to put me up if necessary for my trip East.
On my trip I also got a chance to meet and talk with Dan and Donna and some of the people at Hairy Dog Grrage, who did alot of the work on the car. These discussions were encouraged by Gary as well. Lot's of cool stuff going on at that shop, guys.
An old friend once told me that "tis not the arrow but the indian". It is clear that this indian now has an arrow beyond his abilities, so I am really looking forward to raising my skill level to take advantage of the work that Gary did making this car so competent. The car stays within the brotherhood, and I look forward to keeping you posted on our (my) progress.
Waiting now for the good folks at Intercity to bring her home to OZ. I think this is the worst part of the whole deal.

Was a true pleasure meeting you (and Wayne) Bob, and I know she will be the cause of many future grins! You know i'm always here to answer any questions, and I hope to see some pics of her at her maiden DE out west. I got the PDF manuals and PET all set and found a small jar to put some paint in. I'll also get the PPG blending sticker into your box of goodies before she goes should you ever want more.
Going to miss her but I have a good feeling about her future home..

Be sure to make him get that XD-16 and Adj. WUR hooked up and get his AFR's spot-on. It's only a .6 BAR srping in her and I ran on 100 octane at the track but it would be better if he knew where she is A/F wise.

The Pumpkin has arrived! Delivered safe and sound by Maurice at Intercity. Had to move a 56 300 SL to get her which was cool in itself. Pretty good way to meet new neighbors when a 53 foot trailer pulls up at 8 PM and starts unlaoding cool cars!
A little bit unelegant as we couldn't get her into reverse, but hey, I bought her to go forward not backwards. We'll get that sorted out.
Thanks again to Gary and i'll keep you posted on our progress!!
