Default How much is a Gray Market 930 84 worth today ?

I found one for sale, European Version , Red in black with 62,000 orignal miles and in pristine condition. Clean Carfax showing first title in Texas on 11/1984 and confirms mileage although several Failed Emission Inspections along the way. No info or documenttion on Federalization. The only mod are 3 piece cup style polished wheels and short shifter. Any help of a price range and downside for a Gray market is appreciated.
thanks

At least 25K. I would say closer to $30-35k. The lack of federlization papers is a downer. Will definitely be something you can use in negotiations. Hard to confirm mileage. But you said pristine so probably close. Good luck!

Having been involved in a few gray market vehicles myself, don't trust the mileage without iron clad documentation from delivery - day 1 (before importing to USA and the speedo/odometer conversion). Beyond the typical engine checks of compression & leakdown, be sure to have a very detailed inspection from a reputable shop, as corrosion and stress cracks are common and can hide from untrained eyes. These are expensive to fit. Then brakes, tranny, clutch, turbo, fuel system, etc. can add up to a major service bill rather quickly ... and before you know it you could have had a clean '89 for the same $. Some insurance companies still don't like them, but I've not had any problems with Haggerty Insurance.

I've have never had any problems insuring mine.... I might be prejudice, but I agree with Matt as to pricing..... As with all cars it depends alot on the condition of the car.. Mine was an easy decision, bought from original owner, and my wrench had worked on the car for "at least the last 15 years"...Happy with the decision, never found any surprises...

The lack of federalization papers is an inconvenience, but as long as the car was titled in at least one state, you should be good to go......except in maybe in California. When I moved back to Wisconsin from the East coast, the unique RoW VIN, made it somewhat of a pain to get the vehicle registered in this state because the RoW car VIN's are not in the database. It had nothing to with the Federalization papers, it had to do with those VIN's.

I'm not sure if it was on this board or one of the others, but someone had posted telephone numbers where you can obtain DOT papers... Do a search it's probably here...I'll check I may have the numbers somewhere..
