Talking Holiday Spirits, a race car and the nosy neighbor- short story

Thought I'd share a short "do not try this at home" story and confess my own ignorance.

Had some friends in from the left coast and we proceded to enjoy the evening. Somewhere during the garage lounging I got the bright idea to take my buddy for a blast in the race car. So we fired it up and headed out. I live in a new neighborhood and there are two streets and dead ends with no houses on them, so we made a parade lap 1st to make sure no one was jogging or walking thier dog at 10PM...I know safety first. I then proceeded to scare the living crap out of Jack, entered the dead end nearing triple digits, did a perfect power slide, dougnut, exit, and spun the first 3 gears all the way back to my street. Kind of like high speed autocross meets formula drift. He was so amazed we did it again.

Grinning and laughing like school girls we headed home to find my wife arms crossed waiting to cuss us out for being stupid. Harmless fun honey, we were careful. "My ***" she said with confidence, I could hear you two inside the house. OPPS- maybe we weren't invisable.

This morning at work a co-worker / neighbor asks my wife -"did you hear those kids in the neighborhood last night? I called the police. After hanging up my husband noted that it was strange that we heard the car in the neighborhood but did not hear it leave. Carl then started laughing - I'd bet you called the cops on Mike. His cars are that loud (Zork tube/ Formula car/ 951 straight pipes, you get the picture)" with this my wife proceeds to call me and feed me more hell..

The funniest part of the story- the county sheriff who was called and sat in the coldasac for 4 hours lives 5 houses down from me.....small world

Mike

Nice Mike heh heh... gotta love it. Total hilarity, classic.

Tell us more about the race car?

I've affectionately dubbed Tolland (the town I reside in) "Paulland" as I own the streets 8-). My personal ahem proving ground 3 mi. up the road from me consists of fresh tarmac, flat and rounded curbs (perfectly clip-able), and, uh um er... 2 houses, one resident - for the past 3 years - muwhaahahaaaa god bless the downward housing demand heh heh.

It's gnarly fun, esp. in the winter where the plows sorta "get to it" last here - time to 4wheel rooster the Alumibitch //S8's quattroness...

Uh, was that out loud??? 8-)
