I'm a fan because of how it looks on the race cars...on an unmodded street car it's not that great, but I understand why people do it. However on a modded street car it looks just right, but all the body appointments must be there to make it work.

934 & 1976 935...bow before its awesomeness

Form follows function..."hier at Porsche, ve concern ourselves mit zie funktionality und performance...ve like to vin ze race und skare ze schize out of zie drivers...ja...zis is gut!"

Not sure if my 965 has the same exhaust possibilities as you 930 guys, but I have completely straight through, no muffler, no cat, no wastegate cat, and even my tailpipes have the baffles removed. I get noise and I get flame. AND it exits in the standard dual exit points.

Is this any different to a zork tube apart from the exit point?

PS: Small observation on backpressure, when I put my muffler back on, not only did it kill the sound, the response didn't feel as crisp. Back-pressure, no thanks!

Now that's what I'm talking about. I'd like to have your setup on my 930. Just good old straight pipes that exit the stock locations...

I think the Zork is much shorter, that's all.

Free flowing mufflers and equal length headers provide less restriction and more exhaust gas velocity, but still produce enough back-pressure to keep performance up to the task. By going with absolutely no restriction/back-pressure as you would find in a straight through pipe (i.e, Zork), could it be that the actual result would be less HP and/or torque? Are we falling prey to the old axiom: "louder is better"? I'm not an automotive engineer, so someone that is....please give us your thoughts!!
The biggest performance change for me was taking off an old SSI exhaust and putting on a B+B heat exchanger and putting on a zork pipe.

The combination felt like 35 horsepower.

The zork is supposed to be good for up to 12-17 hp. It absolutely is a performance enhancement.

Hey Early!

Actually, I picked it up locally here in SoCal; however, it was originally purchased new in Oklahoma...where it spent most of it's time. If I remember correctly (Which I doubt), I believe it made its way to SoCal in 2006 where it sat on a dealers lot until I bought it in 2007.

Hey Early,

Here are a couple of photos of the car when I first purchased it...

I'm not an expert on these cars, so I'm not sure if this is the original engine or not. The car was really clean when I bought it. It appears to be the original 3.3L H6, but again, I'm not sure...

LOL, Yes it is...Wow! well at least now I understand why all of my buddy's used to keep asking me what the hell was in the car...I just know that the car is fast and none of my friends 996TT or 997TT can beat me...

I basically had to go by what the dealer listed, which wasn't much. I just knew by looking at the car, that whoever put the car together had invested quite a bit on upgrades. The car was in excellent condition. I just wish I knew exactly what upgrades were performed internally to the engine just for the sake of any future mods. I just recently upgraded the turbo, which I thought was a K27; however, after I had the old unit removed, I discovered that it was a Turbonetics BB type which I was told was a very good turbo...the reason for the upgrade was do to a bad turbo seal...

Addtionally, I had a lightened pressure plate and flywheel installed with a Stage II disk...

I would love to glean more information on the car if I could. That would be fantastic...

Thanks again for the info and you take care and have a great holiday season...
