Default Installing K27 problems...

Well I got my K27 and (used) BB exhaust bolted up.

I thought I was ready to put the intercooler on then I think I found something I screwed up..

The turbo isn't centered in the cut out. So the billet adapter doesn't seat all the way down. You can see a 1/4" gap in this picture. I just wanted to confirm this will screw up the intercooler before taking the turbo back out and making that hole bigger...

nevermind, it was easy to just push the tin down a little and make it fit right.

yep, you need to loosen the tin a bit and it will slip right down there.

Just fired up to check for leaks etc. I was surprised how tame the B&B muffler sounds. Has a nice back rap but not much louder. I think I will try a 4" muffler next..

You can also loosen the bolts on the compressor housing and rotate it to line up better.

It looks like you have the B&B 4" dual outlet muffler already. It's just the tips that are 4" the pipe is still 3" or whatever it is.
I have the B&B 4" single out muffler and the sound level is perfect for my tastes.
If you look inside there is not much in there to restrict the exhaust

I am not sure what is inside the muffler (didn't really look). What I think I will try though is a 4" straight pipe from the turbo existing on the passenger side. Hopefully it would be quiter then a zork but louder then what I have.

I have another issue with putting the intercooler back.. (cross post )

Ok here is what I am dealing with:
this is the driver side. I think it is on correct.

Passenger Side:

They Extra Parts-I thought these were used to bolt down the passenger side but don't see how it can now.

You have to be _very_ careful when you do that...it is easy to nick a blade on the compressor wheel or to bind the turbine shaft.

There is also a IC support at the rear of the IC(closest to the fuel dirstributor), drivers side.

I'd be aware... that small, paper element air filter may be restrictive. increase its height to 3-3.25" and go K&N (A062A4, or similar) for free breathing.

The compressor housing actually will spin perfectly centered if you rotate it by hand on the large end where the it bolts to the center cartridge, the key is to just back off the bolts enough to spin the housing not completely remove it. I have done this many times, just requires care and patience.

I am running one of those new $$ Zero clearance hybrid Garretts on my old Turbo Z and I just re-clocked it using David (125 Shifter) suggestion.

Whats that funny looking valve coming from the WUR?

Hope you know that if the diaphragm fails (it has been known) that fuel will spray out of there?
