Default I know EFI is better, but....

I'm watching a local shop build a car for the engine. Let me explain more, the engine was build sometime ago for a customer that ultimately wrecked the car. They (the shop) bought the engine back. The engine has been waiting for the right "donor" car but in reality I think they've been waiting for some extra time to set aside to do this project. Now is that time. I was told that EFI is the best way to go but when this motor was originally build that EFI was pretty cost prohibitive. If all holds true, what would be a ideal CIS setup??

So this was pinnacle of CIS output (from the factory)? What is that output?

The factory claimed 360 most people said that was understated.
My car made 386 RWHp with this set up with headers a,no cat ,k27 HF,1 bar spring.

They're claiming over 500 rwhp.

So, what's "reasonable" for a CIS?

400 rwhp on the CIS is about the max for a decent longevity motor. This limit is the reason I decided to go the twin turbo route and EFI...I know not everyone can go EFI, but if you can't, for the sake of the motor keep it to right at 400 and you'll be happy for a long time.

A very worthwhile mod for "while you're in there" is twin pluggin the head...it will do amazing things for the drivability factor.

400 and and good reliable CIS system would suit me just fine. Even with 400 you still have to have it pointed straight ahead when it kicks in...

I don't recall everything and didn't ask for all the recepits but it is twin-plugged. Also, displacement is to 3.4L, 7 injectors, larger intake, and that's about all I retained. The list did go on. I'll need to ask to see the build sheet.

Well the twin plug is the #1 best thing for drivability - so if that's already done that's a huge plus for you.

Twin plug = Drivability? If you mean reducing the need for additional spark advance thereby reducing the probability of detonation, then I agree.

If I pulled the wires off either side (top or bottom) off my twin plugged car, there's no way you could tell just driving around.

It should also be considered that the car in question was a "3.6 Turbo" thus it has a bigger bore and slightly longer stroke than the 3.3 Ltr 930 motor. More power should be without question.

I don't see that there is a whole lot of difference between the various turbo CIS systems other than US vs. ROW... i.e., fuel head ,WUR. AAv, decel valve, injectors, and hard lines.

The additional controls that you speak of ( 3 ECUs and the harness to plug them in) are primarily emissions/02 related.

Ask to see the dyno showing the 500 RWHP, and see what the fuel ratio's are. That would be, by far, the strongest CIS motor I have ever heard of. From what I have learned along the way, that is a figure taht does not compute, atleast for very long. Just not enough fuel delivery.
