1979 930
Hello,
I've been corresponding with a guy in Charlotte NC who has a 1979 930 for sale. Its listed on collector car trader. Wondering if anyone has knowledge of this car. Also, since its quite a haul from me, if I were to pursue it, I would be interested in someone giving it an in-person "smell" test before I sprung for a ppi, as well as ppi recommendation in the charlotte area. So, any Charlotte rennlisters care to chime in here?
Thanks much.

I'm sure someone else will chime in here, but I live about an hour and a half from Charlotte. I don't know anything about that car, but I was looking at a car up there one time. When I was looking the opinion seemed to be that these guys http://blackforestracing.com/index.html were the ones to go to for a PPI. HTH.

Thanks for the info. My step father lives in SC too and its looking like he will go up and have a first look and test drive. If it looks good, then I'll go for a ppi before pulling the trigger.

Question
Maybe I read the ad copy wrong, but it suggests that substantial labor and hands on mechanic time remain.......Halfway through, its the wording to "parts included"
Is this a partially finished project? Just a small question to pose

unless there are 2 of the exact same color floating around in NC, I have seen that car multiple times up here in raleigh at the porsche dealership being serviced. it looked good from the outside. I don't know anything else about it. if it is the same car than he should have some records from whatever work he has had done up here.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Oscar94, is there only one dealership in Raleigh? I suppose I could check with them using the VIN. Meanwhile, my step father is checking the car out this weekend (thanks for the offer pete77390). If that goes well, I'll get a ppi and go from there. Its exciting to imagine that I may soon have a 930 in the garage.
