Default CIS Modifications Project Time

Since I'm going to have to spend some $ money rebuilding/replacing my turbocharger I figure it's time to go for stage 2 in this car's life and see what you experienced/veteran tweakers suggest:

Engine: 1983 930 Euro RoW (leave as is)
* Heads: Flame Ringed & Ported (leave as is)
* P/C: Stock (leave as is)
* Cams: Stock (leave as is)
Injection: CIS Euro RoW (leave as is)
Intake: K&N (leave as is)
Intercooler:Kokeln (leave as is)
Exhaust: B&B Headers & Muffler (leave as is)
Turbo: Kokeln T3 (change to ? K27-S or K27-HFS)
Wastegate:Stock 930 w/ 1.0 bar (change to ? Tial 46mm)
Diverter Valve: Stock 930 Bosch (change to ???)
WUR: Stock (change to ???)
Fuel Pressure Regulator: ( add ??? )
Boost Control: ( add ??? Manual or Electronic ??? )
A/F Gage: ( add ???)

Thanks in advance, as always, for all the tech assistance and insights!
Cheers, PDQ

If you do have a Kokeln IC then you should not have the 930 diverter valve setup. You should have the later 964t plastic Bosch valve. You could replace that with an alloy one.

Get an Innovate LM-1 or XD-16 for AFR. If the AFR is not able to be tweaked using the CO screw then you need the Brian Leask adjustable WUR.

Cams should be high on your list, you'll need something like the 964t cams to make the most of your mods, with ported heads, b+b headers and a bigger turbo you'd be ill advised not to

Cams are OK, but less important on a basically stock forced induction system. The two best things you could do at this point is look at a straight-through muffler design and matched turbo for your motor. The muffler can add lots of HP by taking away restrictive flow and a turbo made for your motor (like a bolt on from Kevin at Ultimate Motor Werks) will work best. Next, add the wide band AFR guage and learn about what it is telling you. If you are not mechanically inclined, or don't have the time, get a good turbo mechanic to help. Otherwise, you have a very nice set up, so go have fun.

You want real performance? Put money into the suspension and brakes before ripping the motor open.
