I wonder if John Entwistle or John Paul Jones owned a Porsche ?
Oh I didn't say I was good!!! LOL! I've been a music lover for most of my life and I never learned to play an instrument...until now. So it's been a humbling experience! You can imagine my wife rolling her eyes at me as I asked: "Honey! Did you hear it? Did you you hear that? I just played Smoke On The Water!!!"

Just to clarify this silly thread, further - I think my point is that with all of the crazy idiosyncrasies that this car possesses, I am completely hooked! I've mentioned this before, but I'll actually open my kitchen door into the garage just to steal a peak at it!!!

I know you're right about the AC, Rudy! I did a lot of research on the subject and that was to be my "big project", before I took the tumble down the engine rebuild slope!

Now the problem I have is that I love the way a baron engine compartment looks and functions. Hell, I don't even have an AAV (Auxilary Air Valve). Once the compressor and factory airbox are out of there, it's like working on a small block Cheby (well sort of).

Maybe I'll revist the A/C...

I think it's important to have balance in your life - so you must figure out how to both obsess about your car AND visit **** sites!!!

As for the Brad Penn, I bought it from this guy (via ebay, but you can contact him directly if you're not comfortable with using ebay). The stuff was $40.00 a case with pretty reasonable shipping. So far, it's the best stuff that's gone into my engine. I won't be doing any more oil experimentation!

I have a few emails out to some companies that sell Brad Penn, to see if I can sniff out any deals. I will let you know if I have any luck.

P.S. Crank is complete, and I will be starting on the case this weekend. Hopefully I will have the cylinders installed before the end of the week. When do you feel like having a timing party?

Did someone say, "PARTY"?!?!?! Sounds like you're making good prgress, John! I can't wait. Looks like we'll be getting togther in the next week or so. Just keep me posted, doesn't look like I've got any travel coming up, so I should be free to help!

By the way, this is what I used in preparation to time my cams (makes a good assembly lube, too):

Spending the last few months browsing the engine rebuild threads on here, and pelican. I noticed that there was almost always a beer or glass of wine in the backround. I guess losing some inhibitions while doing these rebuilds is a good thing, so you’re not always second guessing everything
