I've been trying to resist the "mod my car" syndrome ever since I got my 85 euro 930. However, 97 degree days here in Orlando are making me rethink the new front bumper with center mounted oil cooler trick. If I shut down the AC the temp never goes past 10 o'clock on the gauge, but my personal gauge does! As long as I'm moving its okay. But my path to and from work takes me past/through Universal Studios and there are two traffic lights that your tires can rot off before they change. Just sitting there soaking up all of that great Florida sun w/o the AC running is a little warm.
As far as the "Porsche flash" goes, none of these wine and cheese sipping GT car owners even know of the tradition much less follow it.

Amen - don't know if I could have done the bumper / cooler either - luckily, mine was done waaaay before I bought it. Can't believe you guys don't have cooling issues... maybe it's the humidity here, maybe it's the bump in displacement, maybe my compression, or massive head porting I have, but I will run into cooling issues after about 30 min of stop and go driving - no A/C on. IF I kick on the 2 6" fans, I can keep the temp at a min of 220 - but depending on how hot the road temp is, how many vehicles and what type of vehicles they are that are surrounding me, it is quite a chore.

Black930,
Mine's black too! Like they say "it ain't the heat, its the humidity!' Its okay in the morning and if I work until about 6:30 - 7:00 its not too bad. But good Gawd, go to lunch and I can barely put my hand on the roof. I know I could cook on it.

In commuting traffic, clutch effort and lack of meaningful AC gets old fast, especially with a little sciatica flaring up down the left leg. But pick your days wisely and it's great. It can make my 55 mile commute more of a ride rather than a task to complete.
More than once I've forgotten I drove it to work, then when I go in my desk at the end of the day and see the keychain it's like "YES! I drove the 930!".
