retorque head studs?

Default retorque head studs?

when i redid my engine I installed raceware head studs and nuts do they need to be retorqued later? i didnt do it the other day when I did the first post rebuild valve adjustment, does it need to be done next time i do the valves?

I use ARP. According to them, if you condition the nut with the stud and torque it using their lube, you will not need to re-torque. So, on my second rebuild, while I had the motor dropped to adjust valves, I checked 4-5-6 and all were in spec as promised. I guess if you're in there to adjust valve lash, you might as well check 'em.

I did not retorque my ARPs either.

That's good news. I haven't re-torqued mine only because I haven't done anything since my rebuild. I guess it's time...

I used arp hardware and I have a 1000k miles on my rebuild as well, and I checked the torque at 500 miles and 1k and they didn't need torquing at all.

I checked the torque on my ARP's after break in and they hadn't changed a bit.

mine are not arp they are race ware when i bought and installed them a couple years ago i didnt know the difference between the two. the rod bolts are arp but not the head studs

As long as the installation instructions were followed, I don't think it matters if they are ARP or Raceware.
