PS:
Wheels are chromed, not polished. But, as you can see, they have also been painted Baltic Blue as a background for the petals. Forgot to look for any rash, though.

Right rear is missing its centercap. He says he has one on order.

I also forgot to look specifically at the fit of the rear engine cover, but IIRC, nothing odd jumped out at me.

What are Tenax pins?

Geezz Noah: That was a VERY comprehensive "drive by". I'm going to forward your comments to my friend who I'm sure will be equally impressed with the thoroughness of your observations.

What can I say but thank you....and if you're in Sacramento, please give me a call. I'll PM you with my number.

Greatfully,

Chuck

Left front fender:

Front valence:

Personally, I might lean towards replacing the rubber strip.

Wear on soft top, left side:

The other side is starting to lift, as well, but not nearly as much.

Door ding, on rear quarter panel just aft of door:

So, according to the sticker, the options should be:
C03: not sure what this means
018: sports steering wheel
220: LSD
391: gravel protection
494: additional amplifier
691: CD player with radio
975: luggage boot trim with velour carpet

Asking price is only $37K? That's a darn good price for an '89 Cab and for a Hollywood dealer. I'd personally jump on this if I didn't already have all my disposable income commited to 2 other P-car projects. TRE Automotive is in N.Hollywood too and Dave would be a good one to call for PPI. 818-509-0257.

< Personally, I might lean towards replacing the rubber strip.>

I consider the front lip a sacrificial lamb for a non-concours car. Here in SoCal it's next to impossible to avoid rubbing it raw on a daily basis the way we do our driveways, speedbumps, etc.. This is why I decided against another 930S front airdam on my 930 - those suckers take a real beating here. Unless you keep your 930 at full as delivered USA ride height it's just a fact of life for a driver car. I'd rather run Euro ride height and sacrifice the scuff marks. Think of it as a bit of added character ... chicks dig scars right? LOL ;-)

I know that C16 on a UK car represents that the car is of a UK spec. I am guessing the C03 means the car is built to USA spec. Could also be California spec.

Good thought. My car (a Ca. car, as well) has also got that code.

Once again Noah....you epitomize the sort of fellow who this forum seems to bring...helpful, informative, knowledgeable.....and you went WAY above and beyond in providing pictures and information for my friend. I visited him tonite and he's calling the dealership tomorrow. I'm trying to convince him to buy a 930 so we can work on them together....and he's definitely smitten with the "breed". I think he's also very favorably taken with the sort of people such as yourself who seem to delight in helping out a potential new Porsche owner. We all share the passion....and in sharing that passion, we like to see new folks join our ranks and share the passion with us.

All I can say is that you have been more than helpful in giving my friend a really good long distance look at not only pictures, but a pretty in depth assessment.

Correct. C02 is US emissions, C03 is California emissions.
