Default B&B longneck intercooler install

Anyone installed one? My understanding is that it is sold with no installation kit. This is the one that requires removal of the factory diverter assembly, a replacement discharge pipe from the turbo to the intercooler, 965 BOV, and other assorted bits.

Any source(s) for the parts to adapt this?

I installed a B&B on my '87 and all I needed was the turbo adaptor pipe which I got from IA. Everything else was a direct bolt on. I don't know if mine is a long neck or not. What exactly is a short neck?

Yep, IA sells a Kokeln install kit or similair which is what you need.

A short neck IC means that it will fit the stock recirc assy.

A long neck needs the 965 parts (Kokeln kit or similair) & the outlet goes directly to the throttle body.

Basically the long and short are referring to the length of the outlet pipe of the IC where they connect to the throttle body or the stock recirc assy.

Get rid of the stock recirc if you can, it is very heavy.

I've heard of people taking the spring out of the origonal 930 blow off housing and shimming the piston shut with a section of aluminum pipe or tubing.
A cut down section of the aluminum outer tube from a dead fuel tank sending unit is supposed to fit well in place of the spring.
Then install the 965 large rubber elbow from the CIS housing and BOV.
This gives you most of the advantages of the long neck intercooler setup while using a short neck intercooler.
You will have to have a hose fitting installed on the short neck intercooler to hook up to the 956 BOV if it doesn't have one already.

The origonal 930 BOV housing is cast magnesium with some aluminum parts in it.
I wouldn't call it heavy relating to a street car.
