CV joint (1/2 shaft) question
Is there any way to tell when these are out if they should be replaced? I'm going to clean them out, regrease with Swepco CV grease, repaint shafts adn replace the boots and retainers but wonder about the joints themselves..
Got all four T Bars out today with no problems, front suspension is on the ground and rear arms are loose and ready to drop. New polybronze, monoballs, and 33/23 torsions going in! Amazing that the originals still have 95% of the coating on them and are still like new!
Thanks!

I just got a response from the Pelican board and all you would want to know about CV's is listed in case others are interested..

There are links to two Pelican thread on the subject but a direct link doesn't work, you need to go to this post and go from there I guess..

I have never seen the ***** damaged, only the rest of them...
Will check out those articles.
EDIT: Seems they found the same as I have in the past, the ***** are fine.

I was going to say check for chunking and pitting in the carriage and the *****. I have a set now that are only about a year old, but seem to make a light clicking sound. I need to drop the axles and inspect them. Should have done it whan I had the motor out...
