Looking at a 87 930 with 14,000 miles supposedly a slant nose delete with no verification,( most likely modified) and an 89 930 custom yellow with 59k miles in Richard Sloan's collection. Both at the same price. Besides the 4 speed vs 5 sp difference, any other pertinent differences between these model years that should sway me fron one to the other, excluding color prefence and body condition. Both in excellent condition.

89 only year from the factory with 5sp along with a unique color makes for a winning combination.

You will pay a hefty premium for the '89 from this broker. Only you can decide if it is worth it...back to lurking.

The gearbox is the biggest difference between these 2 cars. You could always get PPI's on both cars and use that info to help you decide. It won't seem like a waste of $250 if one car is found to have some problems.

Thanks for the feedack. But once again I waffled too long and let the 89 ferrara fly yellow get away. I am starting to learn that when the right car comes along, you have about 30 seconds to make a move or lose it unless it is rediculously priced.
I'm still trying to determine if the 87 slant nose delete is an original factory option or modified. The vin number shows it as a 965 model which I believe is a slant nose turbo designation. If I am correct then this should be an authentic 935 slant nose delete. It's not that I am **** about it being original, but it would be overpriced if just a body kit mod.

Its a late model turbo, started in 91? (not sure about the first 965 year)

The yellow '89 930 was forsale by a private owner for $40,000 obo. on cars com for a few weeks in Decemeber. Carfax is clear and shows he bought it in Texas. Then this dealer scouped it up.

Thanks, Falk, I meant 935 not 965. The vin # is WPOJB0935HS050114. The yellow 89 was priced at $46,900 and I think he got it. Nice profit.

There is a sweet 87 silver with black interior 930 with a 450 hp Powerhause built engine for sale in Colorado Springs. If I remember right it had 77,000 miles on it, but only 15,000 or so on the engine.

The things that stood out when I was looking were that it had no heat, or any smog equipment, so it wouldn't pass emissions where I live.

Yeh, I'd think twice with no heat. Sounds like the silver 930 was set up for track only and not street. Most states require emission testing but some give exemptions for older cars, usually 10 years or grandfathered if older than the state EPA regulation. Sooner or later I will get what I want. I've seen a few 964 T's, but they just did not stand out like yours did. I may just keep my 964 NA and find an older 930 as a project car.

Must mean a stock nose rather than the slant, no? I like that look, has the fins in the rear but no slant nose.
