You know, I havent had a chance to go out and really see what it can do. I've been surprisingly busy with work and doing the Christmas shopping thing. The transporter arrived a little early which is a great thing and I have taken it out a couple of times. When its warmed up it hauls butt and it just feels better. The drivability is now a little different which takes some getting used too after knowing the motor and its characteristics like the back of my hand for a long time before the EFI. 1st gear kept letting the tires loose in a straight line.

When its on boost now, it doesnt feel like its on the edge anymore giving everything its got. Kinda hard to explain what I'm saying. I guess another way to say it is that you can feel that theres is more potential and its just a matter of dialing it in if the motor can even handle it. The CIS system is no longer the limiting factor for further performance.
Stephen did a great job tuning. However, we are discussing other parameters about the Kpa's for my own preferences.
Was it worth it....absolutely. Even if I want to really pump the motor up, I have a great foundation in place. I still have the ability to use different intake manifolds, larger pistons and more cam and head work if I choose to. I also really like the fact that I can tune the motor back down to pass the California smog test.
Its cranking about 430 rwhp (from Stephens dyno) and it weighed in last time I took it to the scales at around 2550 lbs. The combo is pretty awesome and I could just imagine what another 100 horses would do. I will let everyone know more as I get a chance to go out and have more fun!

Everyone always wants that extra 100 or 150. Interesting take on the feel of the car. Thanks!

Christian - 1977 930. I removed the heavy stock fiberglass tail and all the A/C stuff tucked in it in favor of a light aftermarket 78 on 930 fiberglass tail. The lid is also a stock 911 lid trimmed to fit the fiberglass tail. Had to do this to install the intercooler. The stock 77 tail is very heavy especially compared to the one on there now. Also removed the A/C compressor and the metal bracket that supports it.
I went to the scales this morning after a quick blast and now the scale says 2720 lbs. The attendent says the scale is calibrated correctly and the guy 3 years ago said the same thing. Same scale. Now I dont know what the right weight is! I do know the early 930's are supposed to be lighter. I'm sure some weight will come back on when I upgrade the brakes.

Olli- the EFI would have been done to yours if I didnt deviate from it when I had the chance!

I have been considering that too. Got sidetracked by a minor issue with shattered piston rings. So, doing a complete re-rebuild now instead. Complete instead of top-end just because I am at it.
EDIT: Actually David Brown at Speedwerks in Thomasville, NC is doing the job, not me personally.

That sounds more like it. You would have to strip EVERYTHING to be at 2550lbs...

Believe me, I have been thinking about doing it! I have been looking around seeing what some 930's look like with different bumpers, interiors etc. I really do like a few of them out there but I'm also torn about having to take apart a very clean 30 year old original factory interior. Maybe I'll just go the more horsepower route and different bumpers.

Mine is stripped and weighs 2550. I could probably get another 70-100 out of if it had been totally dipped and all of that undercoating, and floorcoating was GONE.
I'd like to get down to 2200!

Oh great You'll only be 800 lbs lighter than me then.

Then what am I going to have to do keep up with you?

I know, I know. Start striping the car, but there is something to be said for a car with a full interior that keeps up with stripped down cars.
