I did the bra thing for awhile. Some people like the looks and they do offer a lot of protection, but keep in mind that you need to keep it really clean on the inside so any trapped dirt does't abrade the paint on the hood. I shelved my bra and went bra-less quite some time ago, opting instead for a "clear bra" 3M material. Can't hardly see it and don't even know it's there.

...and it's really suprisingly easy to install. Just a basic half-hood and headlight lower buckets, and mirror backs, and headlamps and turnsignals lense covers, doesn't really cost any more than a high quality vinyl or leather bra. Supposedly good for 7 years; mine hasn't yellowed one bit.
