...hhhmmm...

Not a lot to go on. Those aren't Ruf wheels (unless it's an old picture). Sure seems cheap for a car with 40K on the clock.

It's been on the Autotrader since I started looking for a 930, and that was end of last year. No idea why it hasn't sold though.

I wonder if it's truley an original 3.3L Turbo, or if it's one of the wide-body optioned SCs (normally aspiriated)? I don't know the specifics of when the factory offered this option for the normally aspirated models. I wonder, too, if it's actually still for sale...stale ad?

If it is a '89 it might be a "SSE 3.2 carrera coupe" AKA "turbo bodied 3.2 carrera" or "3.2 carrera coupe with M491 option".

It is probably just a rough beat up 930.

well, I called and spoke with the owner. He said the car is a clean titled 1989 930. He told me he purchased it in 2003 but is selling it because he bought a 1978 model.

I asked if the car was ever wrecked and he mentioned the car was hit from behind but that you can`t tell. He also stated the doors/body panels align perfectly. He also mentioned he had the hood resprayed.

My question is why such a low price? My guess is that there are probably some potential stories with this car that most likely won`t surface until after you`ve bought it and taken it home. In addition, Portland is a tad too far for me just to check out the car only to get back on the plane and go back home empty handed. Does anyone live close by this car, if so I`d be willing to pay for time spent checking it out.

Why get rid of the only year 5-speed for a '78 model? It's the most desirable model!
