Default Gutted OEM muffler?

Has anyone here gutted the OEM 930 muffler for better flow/performance?

If so, how did it sound and was the mod worth the effort?

have never gutted the muf, but did gut the cat. a very small increase in spool time, better sound no noticable perf gain. it was no effort as I had already yanked the e-system for headers and free-flow muf.

but if your going to do the muf-gut, then why not yank both muf-cat, and replace with the Magnaflow 3" I/O unit (either oval or round body)? the SS round was only $87!!!

Tried it and was ineffective. Ended up with a custom made ProtoTech stainless, one 4 inch round, with almost zero material in the muffler--sounds great . Also changed the dump for the wastegate--very short curved straight down, not showy but effective. Good luck!
