I'm bringing this one back from the dead...in case there are people out there looking at this car! It's NOT an original Slant! Looks like it's listed on ebay, now:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsc...Item#mainImage
I sent him a NASTY email about it and got no response! BUYER BEWARE!!!!

That seller does not care if its real or not, he knows he'll find a buyer and he'll wait.

Hey, Trader, what's the protocol for reporting a queastionable listing to Ebay? Does Ebay care? The only thing that concerns me is the fine line he's walking with that description.

Does ebay care?
Probably.

A while back I put up a Tag Heuer watch. It was original, but for some reason (maybe because I was a private seller) they removed it without notice accusing me it wasn't original. There were several emails too&fro before they allowed me to repost it.

If you bring it to their attention, they might at least tell the seller to adjust the wording....

I emailed the guy too...asking about the car as if I was interested in a real factory slantnose. I was very polite and asked questions about the authenticity of the car....he never responded. It seems that any inquiry about whether it's a factory slant results in no response. The guy has been less than straight forward and he is insinuating it's a factory slant...and it's not. It would seem prudent to contact eBay about this because of the less-than-truthful approach to the marketing. I believe they refer to that sort of tactic in the Uniform Commercial Code as potentially..."fraud in the inducement"??

The there's the car project that start's out with good intentions and winds up looking like this;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...DME:B:EF:US:11

It's got the round headlights, but a "steal body" in the description not once, but several times. It's supposedly a '77 930 but converted to IC'd 930 engine. Hmmmmm, a stenciled "Andial" on the IC, that will boost the HP to 500BHP!
It's sad to see these cars wasting away...it is obvious this car has been neglected for some time.

FWIW, I was scammed on ebay out of $550 and other than their "Insurance" of $275, I was told to get lost. I was contacted by 5 other people who were cheated by this scum bag in San Diego and ebay didn't give a damn. I watched the CEO of ebay on tv and she basicly said that they can't do much and won't unless it's a big deal. You guessed it. Money! It would cost them a lot of money to police the cheats on ebay.

Just giving this a bump - this thing is still for sale! Interesting...the "buy-it now" price is much more in line: $35K! I guess people aren't as stupid as some "dealers" think! FWIW, I sent this guy the nastiest of emails a while back regarding his ad...

My favorite part of the "new" ad:
THIS PRICE IS NOT HONERED FOR LOCAL CUSTOMERS, AND ONLY FOR SIGHT UNSEEN INTERNET BUYER WHO WILL HAVE THE CAR SHIPPED TO THIER DOOR.
