Man what a choice. I am a 930 maniac and would stay with that. ProtoTech did my airconditioning(a must have in southern FL) and it blows very cold and has for years. There is nothing better than a correctly lowered 930 with a custom headers and exhaust system sound. You are the BADDEST GUY IN THE VALLEY. Good luck--either choice is great.

I find that the standard road going 993 or 993tt just doesn't have the looks of the 930 or 964t. Do I want 993 4wd ? No not really.

Now putting a 3.6 engine in a 930 or a 964 would be great especially making it a tt.

People say the 993 rear suspension is excellent. Putting that into a 930 or 964t would be great. There is a guy in Hong Kong IIRC that has done this to his 930. Awesome.

Also the 993tt is the heaviest car out there, even than the 997tt.

It is fact that the 997tt is the quickest 911 turbo out there.

Having been up the road and back with turbos here is what I've experienced. I've had several turbo's concurrently and was able to go back and forth driving them. I had a 97 993TT and my 930. The 993 is a nice car in the sense of a more updated machine (ie, A/C, tranny, clutch pedal, drivability etc etc). It makes a nice daily driver that can kick butt when it needs to. Its definetly a good looker too.

My 930 always showed its age but it did so with a lot of wisdom. In other words, it gave back in performance to make up for the newer bells and whistles. My 996TT was the same to even a higher degree. I've since sold the 993 and recently my 996. I still have my 930 and through much debate (even Stephen can attest to it ) plan on keeping it to pass on to my son.
