Default Tranny troubles

Ok guys in my 79 930 I have a 915 transmission that was rebuilt a few years ago. About a week or so ago I started noticing a vibration from the shifter and earlier I went from first to second and then BAM the whole shifter is vibrating. I can feel a small vibration in all gears but in second gear the shifter shakes and I can hear it very well. Did I blow second gear or did a bushing break loose somewhere?

Not sure, but that 915 is too small for a turbo engine.

Take it apart and have a look, if you can select all the gears it may just be the retaining plate nuts come loose. If you see to it quickly then no damage may occur. Mine were loose in my 3.2 carrera but a bearing has also failed.

And yes, like Rocket said the 915 is not up to the demand of the 930.

hey guys I have the 915 tranny in there, how hard will it be to install a 930 transmission? Would I need turbo trailing arms and so on?

My 4 speed did that in 3rd and it turns out it is a broken synchro ring that has jammed, either way it's a box open job
