Default 930 v. CLK 55

I was at the gym Saturday morning and ran into this HOT blonde...anyhow, I am talking with my trainer about my diet, and he uses the analogy "What would happen if you put garbage gas in your Porsche, it would run like crap right? Well the same is true with your body..."

Anyhow, this blonde is within earshot and promptly walks over and asks me what kind of Porsche I have. Of course I tell her I have a "911 Turbo". She smirks, and asks me if I want to race her & points to her new CLK 55 Convertible outside.

What do you guys think? I have driven my buddy's E55 and they are pretty stout, but I don't know...

Currently, I have B&B exhaust (factory headers), 1 bar spring, K27, B&B intercooler, K&N intake...

Well, I think I am going to race her even though I don't know if I can take her. I am proposing we race for dinner, that way I will at least win some alone time with her!!!!

If you guys don't think I can take her, what do you think I would need to get the job done?????

Cheers!!!!

I used to sell those cars and you would blow the doors off that car, I can't believe you had to ask lol. FWIW the E55 is supercharged and develops 493hp and corresponding gobs of torque it uses the same 5.4V8 as the CLK but the CLK does not have the infamous Kompressor.

I have experience with this matchup and my 930 is somewhat similar to yours. The CLK seemed quicker to 60 or 70, after that you should prevail. AMG has done numerous treatments to these and I felt the one I ran was blown but I could be wrong. By 100 you should dominate. Take her to dinner anyway(no downside--ooops).

I had this same challenge several years ago. My 88 Turbo Cab, her M3. it wasn't the cars she was interested in. Chick didn't really want to race, IYKWIM. Make sure you bet for something physical, IYKWIM.

Thanks for the responses guys...I think she was looking for a way to flirt. I am going to race her, and suggest that if she looses, she has to come over and wash my 930 in a bikini while I sit back in a lawn chair with a Miller High Life and hose her and the car down.

Here's another question...my buddy has a 2003 0r 2004 E55....could I beat him??? He has driven my car and does not think he can beat me, I have driven his car and think that with all that luxury, the speed is deceiving...again, if you think I can't win, what would I need to spank him???

Oh to be single and a 930 owner! Funny story: for a while I had my 3 year old daughter's Britax/Porsche car seat in the back of my 930! The car seat had this leopard print covering on it! GAD! Talk about embarrassing! SHEEESH! Everyone who saw it back there gave me **** about it! I guess it's better than being the man in the mini-van!

I have an 05 E55. It kicks butt for a stocker. It'll definetly give my Stage 1 996TT (which I just recently sold) some tail lights to look at for a bit starting from a rolling start. 469 horses and 516 Ft/lbs of torque from a stock Supercharged V8. I've put it up against some other Porsches already and it does extremely well and then some. It hauls a$$ to 155 mph and then gets cuttoff by the ECU. It ate my stock 87 930 for lunch. Havent had a chance to go up against any other 930's.

The 06 CLK55 is a pretty good performer even though its not supercharged. It does use the same engine as mentioned. I think you'll definetly get ahead of it from mid speeds on and maybe walk a couple or few car lengths until the speed limiter comes in at 155 mph. It has a 7 speed automatic with 382 horses and 391 ft/lbs of toruqe. Aerodynamics will slow it down.

Here we go!!!

The race is on for next week...

Here's the bet:

If I win, then she washes my car in her bikini and I get to sit back and enjoy the show AND she has to bring the Miller High Life.

If I loose, which she is confident I will, I have to wash her car in Speedos, and then take her to dinner that night... Before I could catch myself, I remarked that it didn't matter whether I won or loss, either way she was going to get - ummm - "wet". Needless to say, she turned a little red and said "think so, huh????"

Also, the winner gets to "mess" with the loser ANY WAY THEY WANT while the loser is washing the winner's car....This is going to be the best race of my life!!!! PORSCHE DON'T FAIL ME NOW!!!!

Here's the lowdown....she is in her late twenties, blonde, around 5 - 6" tall, and 115 lbs. She is training for one of those "Ms. Fitness/Aerobics" competitions. After I left the gym today, my trainer called and said that I am all she has been talking about. This is gonna be GUUUUUDDDDD!!!!!

I SWEAR to the Porsche gods that I am not! I cannot believe this myself. She is based out of New Orleans and is in my hometown once or twice a week.

Everything I said above actually transpired between she and I. Of course whether or not she backs up all this sheit talking is another thing all together. Hopefully she doesn't chicken out...after all, she started it.

Post pic of chick -
---------------
Better make it a rolling or at speed 'start' - auto V8s have a looooot of off-the-line torque, and 930 trans don't like 1st gear abuse...
