Default 911 Turbo Board is dead....

Can't say I didn't see it coming. It was getting hacked and spammed all the time. Also, the quality of info isn't like it was several years ago.

Turbo Board Notice

Hi all turbo club members.

I apoloize to you that this board is being spam so much
lately. And it is my inability to manage the board. I am sad and sorry. I really hate to see the board to go away. But I just don't have the resource to continue this.

If you want to email me any thoughts about the future on the 911turbo.com website, or turbo board. Please feel free to do so. Please use the email address "turboboard@911turbo.com". My inbox is already being spammed so much. and please include the word "Clemson" in your message body.

Thanks for your support for these many years.

Clemson Chan

Bummer, it was only a matter of time. Quality certainly wasn't there either, like you mentioned, plus, posting photos was also a bit goofy...

This is exactly why we started the other board (turbo911.com) years ago to keep the tehncial information in the front and the silly stuff to the side. Unfortunately it took hold for a little while then got slow because the chit chat occurred on the other board. I want to help, but not sure how.

Clemson is an absentee landlord who doesn't care, except for paypay money for trips. It gets spammed all the time and hackers are always trying to get into it to change things. I get an email a day from someone wanting to change my profile. I say just let it die. It's run its course.

If it wasn't for that board I would have never ended up here. When I first saw this board it was rather confusing to me as I wasn't too hot on a PC.

The Turbo911.com board that Stephen has setup is a nice board. We use to use it ALOT when we were all learning about EFI conversions.

I started off at the 911 Turbo board 5 years ago or so. Even met Brian Keith Smith there.

I still start my web surfing there each night then move to here. It's just not as active as it once was, is harder to post on having to confirm each post by checking your email, getting lots of spam, can't post pics, etc.

Some guys just think it's the cats meow and all other boards suck.

All sites are a little different and offer different info for everyonne.

I agree about the Turbo911.com site. I think there should be an easier way to get to the old posts so folks can learn about EFI.

Seems like he resurrected it from the dead....

Still a pain to post when you have to check your email and follow the link to post though. Just trying to keep spammers at bay I guess?

That board is shot for sure. Sad as it was also the first one I found 4-5 years ago, but it's been awful for at least a year or more. It turned into "I drove my car today, yea!" and "What wax do you use?" drivel.
Actually, and maybe it's just me, all the boards seem to be something less than they were a few years ago. Have all the hard-core guys tired of the not-new-anymore internet forum concept?

gsxrken you may be on to something. Im one of the first 100 registered on that board and that was about 7 or 8 years ago and been on Rennlist since it started and even the other 2 names years before that. Things have changed on some of these boards and we all crave Porsche information. Maybe things aren't changing fast enough for us huh?
