Default FS: Incredible 930 Turbo Cab

For those that know the history, you may wonder if I've lost my mind selling this car. The truth is that the fact that I built it in the first place is probably indicative of psychosis. I tried to build the perfect "all rounder" that would be fast, fun and trackable. I have not driven this car on the track and wouldn't without some major chassis reinforcements. It's just too powerful.

I bought the car in the first place to have fun with the girls (3 or them plus a wife) AND be able to go fast at a DE every now and then. When I started building it, I wasn't racing as much (so racing budget priorities have changed too). Also, my wife and kids don't really even like riding around with the top down. So trying to please everyone, I created the perfect car for none of us...

However, it is an AWESOME street car. It's beautiful and fast and a lot of fun. The car makes nearly 500RWHP. It was built by stephen and the engine is perfect. I've driven it only 700 miles after stephen put the break-in miles on it after the rebuild (probably 1200 total after rebuild plus some dyno time).

It has all kinds of new stuff including brand new Ruf wheels with new Goodyear eagle DSG3s (235/40/17 and 285/40/17). The engine rebuild list includes (don't try to get through this on one breath):

The car needs a couple of little TLC items taken care of like the electric top (works, just needs alignment), etc. I'll take care of all that stuff at my cost before it sells (only fair with a car this nice).

The good:
the engine (see above)
the tires / wheels
new brakes

the medium good:
the interior and paint aren't perfect; would make a good daily driver. This isn't a concurs car, but it looks really good and is about a 7 on a scale of 10 with interior and paint.

the bad:
the clutch is pretty stiff and grabby. You have to rev it and slip it a fair amount to keep it from grabbing. It's a little like a racing clutch, but that's part of the price you pay.
it's REALLY fast. This car will reach 150 plus in under a mile. That's not a typo. You have to be prudent (I should make a buyer sign a waiver...)

I don't know what this crazy, mad cab is worth. It would take well over $80,000 to recreate it after $40k plus in the car plus $40k or more for the engine.

If I can get close to $65,000 with it, I'll swallow my pride and chalk this whole experience up to stupidity and boost addiction.

The bottom line is that I want more of a track car, and this ain't it.

Alternatively, if someone wants the engine, I'd sell it for $25k or so PLUS a decent 3.3L with good leakdown number PLUS the cost of the swap. You'd get all the goodies with the swap and I'd end up with a car I could sell for $40k or more.

I may buy a 964T and swap engines and sell the cab. Hmmmmm...

I'm open to ideas, trades, offers, whatnot.

Thanks for the bandwidth.

I don't know why rennlist hates me so much when it comes to pics. Here are the links if the pics aren't working above:

You have to keep the engine.

You may be right. Just a matter of finding the right spot to park it.

YOU ARE MAD DC. After all the $$$ and time you have barely broken it in, suck it up champ, keep the cab and add an early outlaw.

Totally totally awesome engine....WOW....but $25K + a good healthy 3.3L Turbo engine (which are around $8K) + the cost of a RE&RE (say $3k)....you are up to $40K....yikes...

That dyno is on no boost. You figure the motor is worth most of the $, but group that with a 89 930 cab and you have a pretty expensive setup. Monster sold the first time for apx 89K. So I think 65K is reasonable.

No question you should buy a 930 coupe, swap the engine/suspension out of the cab, and then sell the cab. Will probably cost you less than $10k net after you make the swap (and sell the cab).

I'm thinking along those lines. May get a 964T to get the coilovers, etc.

Toto, we gotta go back to kansas again...

Good points all, but to build this engine will cost you more than $40k, so that's still a $15k discount...

This thing will run well over 1.1bar. Could easily make 550+ rwhp. It's got all the goodies to do so.

I'm not arguing any of this is particularly logical. Hey, if you don't do a few stupid things, you aren't working hard enough at having fun....

maybe I can scare up a black 964t....
