I run the Dunlop Super Sport Race in a 285 in the rear 18 inch rim. Big improvement over the SO2's in terms of wheel spin, none is second gear at all. I am only putting down 390rwhp. My car is at imagineAuto for EFI conversion etc, so we will see what hooks up after the HP goes up by 100 to the wheels. 733rwhp must be INSANE!!!

DonE: is Brooks, GA near Atlanta? I am being transferred to Atlanta this summer and house hunting next week. Would love to hook up with a few guys to learn the roads etc.. We should be there in June some time, and my car had better be done by then.

I am running a Quaife dif, this has helped considerably because it is 50/50 to the rear wheels. With stock LSD car would get real squirly when it came on boost in second gear with the tire spin the tack would go from 5000rpm to rev limiter in a blink of the eye and rear end would step out immediately to the left. With the Quaife it is absolutely straight. With new 315 Michelin sport cups in second gear and a good surface they will spin but hook up once in a while otherwise I have a wireless boost button on my Greedy boost controller that I run 15psi then press high boost when I get in 3rd gear. I have posted the fastest 60mph to 130mph video on the 993 turbo board of 5 seconds. Of course there were sceptics and a lot of discussion of accuracy but the car is very fast.

My experience with MPSC is certainly different than yours, but now that you mention it, I think I know the reason, I am still running my stock LSD (changing my gearbox soon), and as you rightfully point out, the car goes on a wild sideways ride when I am under WOT.. Please see atached link, this run is between 55-105mph in 4th gear, I get 0.4 G's of sideways movement at 0.9 Bar because of my loss of grip.

Loosing traction in 4th gear

As far as the 60-130mph run, you have a beast of car running at 1.5-1.6 Bar, I believe the sceptism was because of the funny RPM jumps at 60mph, looking like you were loading your turbos with the clutch or sth. I timed a 6 second run with video and stop watch at <1 Bar, but these sort of runs are far from being conclusive. Nowadays we are using AX22 GPS based accelerometer to get accurate measurements, it would be great if you can get your hands on one

Back on topic, with the PIrelli P Corsa, I hardly feel any waving uneder throttle.
For street tires, the S02 "A" look like the best out there.

I've been very happy with the goodyear GSD3 too. 285/40/17. Hooks up and takes off hard in second with 475+ RWHP. Of course, the stock suspension helps because it squats a lot. The stiffer the suspension, the more wheelspin you are going to get.

Don -- What type of rw torque/hp do you have, and are you talking street or R compound tires?

Low of 490 and high of 512, (1 bar) depending on the dyno

I've been looking through the Tire Rack website, but there are not many choices in the 17" wheels based on the recommendations in this thread. Most tires do not go over 265mm and one is at 335mm. And I'm looking for a street tire, not a track tire.

Yes I was geting the turbo spooled up that is why the rpm was bouncing. I think I would be able to start in second gear now that I can get it to hook up or go to high boost in 3rd. if I get my hands on a AX22 i will do another run.

David

if you want, PM me where do you live. I am buying an AX 22 from the US in the next couple of days and sending it over to a friend (in the US) for him to test his car before they ship it over to me here. If you don't live far from there you can get it, do a few runs, and then send it a an address in the US that I would give you. Let me know. You will need to share the files with me though!
Jean

Sorry for the OT Don, I'll stop here.

Kumho Rs are a great ultra sticky, but suck in the wet. awfully cheap though
the streets are so-so. Kumhos ASX's are really cheap, sticky, great wet, but size selection is thin.

I'm pretty pleased so far with my Pirelli 19/25/355's. They will only spin slightly in first on a slippery asphalt surface. Then again, I will see how they work with the new motor once its in.
