My daily driver is a modestly modified STI. It is MUCH quicker (off the line) off the line than my 930. The 930 is stock and the top end between the two cars is similar. The sti handles and brakes 100x beter than the 930. I still love my 930 I just dont see cars through rose colored glases. Its a cool clasic car that responds well to mods. Money for money mod for mod ($ wise) the rally cars are faster than a 930. Lets be realistic guys 930's are 20 + years old. Technology has grown by leaps and bounds.

Modestly modified can be very argumentative these days. Your 930 is stock. Theres the difference.
I have both a 930 that I call modestly modified (430 RWHP at the moment) and a 996TT set up the same way. Yes the technology has moved on and I can see that SOMETIMES when I drive one right after the other. Particulary the road handling. But what always stands out is that a modestly modified 930 turbo is still going to match or chew up whats out on the roads today, including many of the cool Japanese high performers even though it is 20 plus years old. No Rose colored glasses here, only facts. Been there first hand.......
