Default AGIP Racing 20W-50 Full Synthetic?

So on my quest to find Mobile One 15W-50 yesterday I came across this...

( I visited about 3 autoparts stores, 2 Wal-Marts, and 2 motorcylce shops...)
I finally found a place that had a great inventory of synthetic oils, a Ducati shop in Marietta just by Hwy 5. It was all over when I was informed that they use this stuff in race bikes. I don't have a catalytic converter, so I bought a case.
I just changed my oil and poured in 11 Liters of this stuff. Some people say it's just oil but I may switch if this stuff lasts a little longer (thermal breakdown wise) than the Mobile One...
(I can hear DonE saying "Oh no, not again!")

A few guys run Agip Racing Synthetic 10w-60 for four-stroke bikes over on the 951 boards and like it a great deal. If you do not mind posting how much was it for the case?

At least you pointed out a different brand rather than "what oil is best?" thread....too funny.

I just picked up Royal Purple 51 at Barnett Performance in downtown Atlanta for 9.50 a qt. This stuff will last 5000 miles easily which is about what I drive per year. And if the weather in Atlanta doesn't dry up soon, I'll have to install those nifty Michelin pontoons soon.

I've been told that F1 teams run the exact same AGIP oil in their cars...
I'm excited to know that this stuff is that good!

Go checkout Luqidcosworth.com . If its good enough for Cosworth it should be great in your 930.

I read an article in a harley publication a few months ago where they tested the different types of synthetic motor oils, including several of the motorcyle brand names like harley synthetic oil. the best of the bunch was the mobile 1 it had more detergent properties and much more molybdenem in it than castrol or any of the other oils. these were lab tests by the way to determine the components of the oil ,not:" let's put it in the bike and see how it runs"tests.

I ran AGIP in my Ducati race bikes for several years with great results. Both bikes were full Corsa built race bikes and were rebuilt, I often questioned why, twice per season. 11.5K RPM's and oil was changed once per weekend - never had any oil related problems! Agip always looked the same going in and out of the engine. It's what Ducati Corse filled every Corsa bike with in 1996 thru 1999 even though the Ducati Factory "switched" to Shell syn.

What is the name of the shop in Atlanta? I live in Gainesville, GA an would like to change my 930 to AGIP.

On the topic of motorcycle engine oils I know Mobil 1 V-twin 20w-50 has been a favorite choice even on in the Offshore powerboat world with their mountain motors. It has more Boron and ZDDP than the Redcap (old 15w-50) formulation had as anti-wear agents and it does not use moly which is what could potentially cause flat-topping of rollers. It also has an additive that prevents corrosion even during extended storage and it holds up to 518*F!
