Default PorschePhd Question?????

Porschephd, just an opinion on a earlier question I posted a few days back about what cams can they be? Do you have a guess, if not would you say they are for sure not stock as the previous owner stated to me they were. Anyone else have any input as well, you can never get enough feedback.

It is so hard to say. Based on the picture I wouldn't really have a good guess. I would simply send them out and have them profiled. They can be checked for lift, duration etc. Then you know for sure.

Thats very true, and if it was not a new motor ready to install and fire up I would do that. Im sure after a year in the car the HP bug will bite and I will then have reason to pull it apart and see what I have. As for right now it's almost spring and I have many trips planned for the Dragon in NC starting in a few weeks. Thanks again

Here is my question, how do you set the cam timing on a cam you don't have info on? Did you take a lifte reading before hand? Just wondering.

I did not do anything to this engine. I bought it from a guy in NJ who owned his own shop. He said the motor was recently bilt and was for his persoanl car. From what I gathered from him was 2 things, he said he was in need of funds, and that he really wanted to build a 600HP 3.2, therefor he was selling this motor. He did say the cams was in the motor when he aquired it and that he thought them to be stock.
