Default ANYBODY KNOW JOHN TRUMAN

I am turning my car over to John this Saturday, he is reputed to be a master wrench in the Ohio region and formerly of Stoddards. John will be converting my already modified 3.4 930 to EFI utilizing motec, I can post the details of the build after he forms a baseline with dyno testing for the "Before" later next week. Your candor will be greatly appreciated.

John was recommended to me by Neil Goldberg from the South East Michigan PCA road and rally gruppe Neil has quite a number of Porsche I has told me that if I ever wanted to properly build an engine he is the guy. I wanted to send my car to Imagine but in the end proximity made the difference. Here is what I plan John of course reserves the right to Veto, and yes he is a man of few words.

Project Type 930

Engine
Stock crank, case, oil pump, etc.
Carrillo rods
3.4L pistons (final compression 8:1) retained
Cylinders and heads have Nirostat fire rings (provides sealing at 1.2bar boost)
930 heads ported with stock valve sizes, but smaller 993 valve stem diameter on inlet valve Valves were back cut for flow improvements
Twin plug with Bosch silver plugs W4CS
Aase springs and titanium retainers (pretty standard stuff)
GT2
Type 935 Individual Throttle bodies adapted to fit C2 Turbo Intercooler
Stock fuel rails, regulator, damper, etc, stock fuel pressure
BOSCH injectors, flow matched
Very nice full bay intercooler (Bob Holcombe) or C2 Turbo
B&B Headers retained
Fabspeed 4” Dual out exhaust
Imagine Auto’s HF2 Turbo
Tial BOV, Wastegate
MoTeC M48 Pro or M600
Wevo Mounts
Wevo Shifter

John also wants to play with the gear ratios.

What kind of hp figures are you looking for? I ask because for the range I was looking to get, Bosch didn't seem to have the right size. I ended up with 72/lb Indy injectors.

That build is close to mine. I don't have individual throttle bodies. I have a 993 crank with the 98mm Mahles, for slightly higher displacement. My headers and exhaust are custom built (by Bob Holcombe). Twin HKS wastegates. My turbo is a TSO4. Next turbo will be the one you are trying. Running the GT2 EVO cams. Running the Motec 48Pro.

Engine built by Bob.

Only substantial difference, really, is that I have a G-50, with the WEVO shifter.

My goal was 500+ to the wheels at 1 bar. Made it.

Have fun!!

I believe John took care of a friends race 930, 962 GTP and Camel light car - Hap (Don) Stiles - in Medina.

They worked together for years, so Hap should be able to answer any questions you have.

I can PM you Haps email if you like...

John picked up my car today, I will keep the board posted. My goal is drivability and 500+ rwhp won't hurt either.
