Hello 930 owners,
Recently I was contacted by a good friend of mine with some very bad news; he lost his wife to a tragic liver disease a few months ago. They were both Porsche Club members and our friendship originated at the many events he and his wife together with me and my wife. He wants me to help him sell his pearl white metallic 1989 930S cabriolet and his pearl white metallic 1995 928 GTS.
Here is a link to an eBay auction I have running on the car: 930S Cabriolet
To my question:
I know this car is very special as it was the only 930 with the G50, the color is pearl white metallic (which also makes it quite special) and I know its the last of the 930 style that was replaced by the 965.
Could you guys point out to me some of the things that make this car special beyond what I've stated above. I know there were only 75 1989 930S cabriolets brought into North America by Porsche.
If you asked me about the 928 I could answer almost any question but I'm afraid when it comes to the earlier 930's I don't know quite as much and I do not want to give anyone who inquires about the car, bad information.
Thanks in advance.
Here's a picture of the car. It's an awesome example......

I think that car is worth about $25k. So I would happily give you $26k today and you can end the auction early knowing that you got more for the car than it is worth

All 1989 Turbo cars whether it be a Coupe, Cab, Targa or Slantnose came with the highly desireable G50/50.
147 Slant Nose cars were "officially" imported and sold in the U.S through Porsche dealers.
Other than "obvious" aesthetics, the rest of the running gear and interior was the same as all other 930 cars of that year.
Having said that - just looked at your Ebay auction the white piping on the front seats are unique. You state the AC has been upgraded, but the compressor looks like the standard unit?
Good luck to your friend and sorry for his loss, I *really* like his 928.

Your ad looks very complete and accurate. My heart goes out to our fellow enthusiast. I would guess the car sells in the $50K range, although there could be collector looking for this car which could bring much more.

No reserve! Somebody may get the deal of a lifetime on that car.
