No dissent. The "S" engine was offered for the regular nosed 911 in Europe, too. Slantnose AND "S" was not a must, either way.

Usually a "S" engine is good for about 350 hp, it was very conservatively quoted and Porsche claims a top speed of 270 km/h or 275 km/h with the slantnose/Flachbau.

The holes in the rear fender were offered as a "Sonderwunsch". Theoretically almost any combination was possible.

Maybe it is hairsplitting indeed to discuss whether a slantnose is always a "Sonderwunsch". In my eyes YES, because a slantnose was a handcrafted 930. I think it is irrelevant whether the factory designated a M-code to the slantnose. If it was a regular option, Porsche would have given the slantnose a specific body-code.

There have even been exotic engine versions going up to 400 hp. However, those engines were usually not street legal even in Germany.

The relevant Ruf cars are the BTR and the CTR.
