Default Are 1996 930s 50 State cars and some questions...

What is the most important part of a PPI for a 930? Leakdown? What is the range that I should expect to pay?

TIA

Leakdown results less that 8%, compression above 130psi...look for even results with a slight variation across all cylinders. Ensure engine is warm and throttle is wide open.

Other important things...oil leaks, electrical, brakes, has the car been crashed \ fixed....common sense stuff you would do if buying any used car.

Also in your Thread Title did you mean to say "1986"?? If the car has been licensed here, then you should be fine regardless of State.

Thanks Yasin,

I am thinking about buying a 930 from out of State. I thought I had read somewhere that all Porsches after year 198x are 50 State cars. I just can't remember what year it is. Help anyone?

TIA

I believe that year was 1986 when Porsche re-introduced the "911 Turbo" back into the USA, and stopped calling it a "930"...

the production of the type 930 ended in 1989 after which came the 964Turbo and the 993Twin Turbo. Good luck finding one and I do believe the cars are 50 state from 1986 on.

Thanks for the replies.

Ack. I just found out that the car I am looking at does not have it CAT, but he says it passes smog in his State. He says his mechanic just adjusts the fuel enrichment screw before (to pass), and after with his CATless exhaust.

Elton,
I know of an 1987 black/black turbo 47K miles, Kokeln turbo, exhaust, intercooler etc,334 rwhp, 330 torque for $30,000 and guess what the car happens to be in Socal too.
If interested please email me your contact number which i will forward to the seller for further consideration....
