It appears, at least on mine, that the engine doesn't need more air than the stock airbox can provide.

The resonator smooths the airflow around the metering plate. The 934 race cars used a different metering plate design since they didn't have the airbox.

The CGT has Helmholtz Resonators as well... Porsche must still think they are useful.

I contacted a few experts on the Powerflow intake and since our cars are aircooled, this intake will not show its peak gains on the dyno unless there is plenty of airflow. IA and FVD both confirm gains of 10+HP
