Default glass removal

I am going to repaint my 1980 930 this winter/Spring and I want to take the glass out.

What are my odds of getting it out and back in without breaking any of them?

Anyone with experience on this?

Any tricks to remove and install again with new seals?

Thanks

The windshield is particularly interesting as you have to string it to get the seal reset around the glass when you're installing it. I'd really recommend you call an auto glass guy and have him remove and replace them for you. It'll save you a lot of swearing later and, if they leak they're under warranty.

If you do remove front or rear screens, make sure you do not remove the trim/bezels.

I pulled out my trims/bezels and then removed the glass, when I refitted I couldn't get the trims back in. When I asked a windscreen guy he asked me again what I did. His face dropped when I said I removed the trims first...

Push the screen out from the inside. You will need string to refit it and an assistant really. I did get mine back in on my own though.

Those trim/bezels are very expensive for what they are. I have been told that a 964/965 C2 screen will fit our cars with the later 964/965 C2 rubber seal. They have no trim/bezel.
