I've searched, but I'm limited to choices based on available sizes. I just ordered some of the new Ruf classic look wheels (now made by AVUS and quite a bit lighter at 22 lbs). I need some tires. I'm thinking 245/45/17 in the front and 285/40/17 in the rear on 9s and 10s.
These sizes are available in these tires:
1) kumho Ecsta MX - hard to beat the price of the 285s at only $171, any reports?
2) Michelin Pilot Sport - $317!!!!
3) Yoko AVS Sport - $285!!!
4) BF Goodrich Gforce T/A KDW - $181 - looks pretty darn good.
5) Goodyear Eagle F-1 GSD - $199
6) Toyo Proxes RA-1 - ???price??? this is a DOT comp tire right?
I need 70% street/30% track, but I don't need the ultimate track tire. Something fun that will slide around a little is fine. I'll probably do 4 DE's a year.
Any help/opinions are much appreciated.

PS2 SUPERIOR! I had Pirellis P Zero Nero and after flat spotting them, (a blessing in disguise) I got the PS2s, quieter and more comfortable ride and the grip is well, stunning. LP

I got the Yokohamas 285/40/17 rears and 235/40/17 fronts, just like your Ruf rims but made by Speedline. I love the Yokos. Now on Falkens but the Yokos were quiter.
Can we go 295/40/17 on the Ruf 10 inch rear rims? Any disadvantages?

I have just about over a week on the PS2's, $1000 lighter in the account but the highway ride is fantastic. The full day of practice laps at the track yesterday though cause me to re-think "dual" use. 245/45/17 f, 275/40/17 r. I don't see them lasting very long.
