Default Stock intercooler seal

My stock intercooler seal is coming apart in the corners like almost every other one I have eve seen.

If I replace the seal, how long will it last before coming apart again? Are the replacements any better than the originals?

Thanks!

I went through this about a year ago and found that no one had replaced the original seal. A new OEM is about $200 and you would be better off using that money to purchase a more efficient IC. I bought a B&B like the other guys and it fits great without the plastic collar. I guess you could add a shroud to make it more efficient but don't see the point since the B&B is so much more efficient than the OEM. I also silicone rubber glued my old OEM to repair it and the heat would not allow the repair to stand.

I agree 101% with Rudy.

If you really are intent on installing a new rubber seal, my recommendation is to glue any gneric car door rubber seal to it, cut to fit.

Something like this:
