Tire Sizes on 17X10?
What is the best tire size to use on a 17X10 on a 930? 275 or 285? Will they fit the 10 inch? I assume a 315 is too big?
Thanks.

Derick,
You can get Kumho Ecsta MX's in 285's that will fit 17x10" rims. Just remember when you purchase the fronts, get fronts with the same diameter(or as close as possible) as the rears or your car's existing rake will be thrown off. For instance, the diameter of the 285/40 YR17 is 26". In which case, on an 17x8" rim, you can fill with a 235 or 245(285/45 YR17) which has a diameter of 25.8". If you went with a 245/40 YR17, the diameter is 24.8". Over an inch shorter!! A decrease in the front's ride height by over 1/2". Of course, maybe you enjoy adjusting your ride height.
I used the TireRack.com web site for the numbers provided.

Just remember, use the charts provided by the manufacturer to determine what they recommend for the rim size vs. tire size. Some tire manufacturers will only recommend 275's for a 10" rim.

Looks like a 245/45/17 285/40/17 will work pretty well. Only 0.3 inches off.
