Default 930 Battery vent tube

I need a little help locateing the battery vent tube on a 79 930. I just pulled the old battery out and it wasn't hooked up. I looked for the vent tube or a vent tube hole and I don't see one. Where is it located on the older 930's. Also what battery do yall recomend. I haven't got a straight answer as to what is the correct repalcement battery. Does anyone make a good optima adapter that doesn't require any drilling. I was looking at the interstate batteries and some say the 91 series and some say the 93 series. Some of the interstate batteries have a vent on each side and some have one oval vent in the middle. Which one is correct.

Thanks

Why do you want a battery with a vent? Or am I misunderstanding you. Seems a vented one might leak and corrode metal. Also, I thought all new batteries were ventless nowadays.

I just went to Advance Auto Parts and bought a repalacement. I don't think the Optima batteries have the staying power of a regular battery? Someone correct tm if I'm wrong.

I use the optima red top. Recent purchase to new to evaluate the battery performance, you may also want to look at odyssey batteries.

Rocket, I'm just looking for a battery to replace the original one. All the batteries I've found have vents and require a vent tube. Most 911's came with a vent tube that vents the battery to the fender well. At least thats what I'm finding out. My car is a 79 930 and I can't find the vent tube or the hole where it goes. I like the optima batteries but I'm not interested in making a bracket or drilling any holes. From my understanding, if you don't vent your batteries out of the trunk compartment there is a small chance you could have problems.

My battery is sealed as all new batteries are. You don't need a vent.
