As far as it goes, you can buy a custom fuse block for the stereo and components that runs directly from the battery terminal. As well,x the deck can be removed and modified for new compnents such as subs.

It's generally HIGHLY recommended to run a direct battery feed with a custom fuse setup to the amp and head unit.

I just put in a new Alpine head unit with a medium-to-large 5 channel amp in the trunk (with direct battery feed/fuse) and it hasn't posed a problem as of yet.

I've also put in Boston Accoustics' 6.5" door speakers with only some minor trimming of the panel... no metal cutting at all. I just had to take less than a 1/4" off around the circumferance of the hole that's already there and they fit just fine. Otherwise, a couple of newly drilled holes for mounting, and it was a snap.

I still mean to post a couple of pics of the install when I get a chance.

God Schnele, I'm in the same boat. They were always working on me to get my weight up to 215 - 220 as an outside linebacker at the The Citadel (I know not a major football power ;-) ), By the end of the season was lucky to be 195. THen I went in the Air Force and through some pretty intense diet and exercise stayed at 190 lbs for the next 11 years. Now, I'm about 255 and I can literally not eat for days and only lose a pound or two. I guess I really hosed up my metabolism all those years.

I've got the original speakers in my 85 eurospec with a JVC stereo CD player ONLY because the Blaupunkt died. However, 80 - 90% of the time its not even on when I'm driving and I just listen to the "tunes" the boxer and turbo are spinning back there. That's all the music I need. Now in my Suburban, its a whole different story!

Driving my car is a huge release for me whenever the weather permits in southeast Michigan, but I have to have the classic tunes be it rock, classical, R&B, reggae it all in the mood. Nothing like a solo drive on country roads with James Taylor, the 4.5 inch dual out B&B barks and burbles loud enough so I get to enjoy both the flat six and my Mac Intosh sound system with ADS speakers.
