Default 1982 - 930 Interior Temp Sensor

Hello All-

I've been looking for an interior temp sensor for my 1982 - 930's auto-heat, and haven't been able to find one ANYWHERE. This is the piece that mounts to the roof between the sun visors.

I've looked all around (Pelican, wreckers, etc.) but the part's discontinued and nobody seems to have any around.

Does anybody have any leads on where I might be able to find one?

Does anybody happen to have any information on a replacement sensor that I could use? Anyone happen to know the spec's for that sensor, so I might be able to find a substitute?

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated and handsomely rewarded!

Jeff,
Try Georgia Auto Dismantlers.com. I,ve been to their yard and it is heart breaking to see so many P-cars broken up.. If you can get them to take it out for you (Labor can exceed the item's cost) I know they have them. Ask for Dave.

Good luck,

Rudy

Awesome! Thanks very much... right now, my heat is "full on" all the time as I don't have the sensor at all, so I don't mind paying a premium for it.

Well, I just double checked my part number, and it seems that I had it wrong, and that Pelican parts actually has them as a special OEM purchase.

The part number is:

#911 659 105 01

It should be here by Monday.

I'm thinking of getting rid of it completely. It's way to complicated and doesn;t work all that well. I'd be happier with the heating controls out of a '74 911. Pull up for heat. Push down for cold...

My '81 ROW had the auto climate control but it didn't work. What it did have was the small manual control next to the hand brake. Wish my '87 had it now.
