1982 DP 935 Information

wow, that car is nice! I finally found aplace to host pics so here's my 100% original 87' factory slantnose (which doesn't leak one drop of oil) The only thing that's been changed are new tires. The floor mats with Porsche embroidered on them have never had shoes on them.

Hey Jeff, is that the original color? My father in law had some business dealings with Pete Rose and on several ocasions I had the opportunity to tag along and at that time Pete had a DP935 but it was white on white.
BTW, awesome car

I'm not sure if it's the the original colour or not, but I do have the old title tranfers and lien papers showing Pete's name/address. I can check the original order codes for the delivered paint options, but I really think that it is the original colour.
Rumour (unverified) has it that my car was originally built for Mario Andretti, but he ended up buying a white on white one instead. At around the same time, Mario and Pete were some sort of partners in a racing team, and as a result Pete picked up the car instead of Mario. Maybe Pete picked up the white one from Mario when he was done with it?
I do know that Pete has had a fair number of p-cars, so I doubt that this was the only one.
Thanks for the compliment... I think it's pretty awesome as well!

Sameer-
Thanks, and right back at ya! I follow your project(s) with much interest.
As to the mirrors, well, define "clearly". Sure, I can see out of them, just enough to see of there's something beside/behind me, but it's not really THAT functional, as it seems to be a solid fixture without any adjustablility.
That being said, I don't have any problem using them... so far. I have my first track day in a couple of weeks, so I'll let you know how they work out at that point.

Jeff,
Great thanks. I follow yours too closely. Pity I dont live on your side. Mines pretty clear from the drivers side but the passengers side is totally useless, just for looks.
